Before you begin

Please note the following information before you install, upgrade or remove Tempo Budgets:

  • You must have the 'JIRA System Administrators' global permission.
  • Please check the Installing Tempo Budgets364875190 to ensure your version of JIRA supports the Tempo Budgets version to be installed.
  • Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer 9 or higher are supported.
  • Tempo Budgets is available in English and French. More languages will be supported in future releases.

Tempo Budgets will add additional tables to your JIRA database. Enabling or disabling Tempo Budgets within your installed plugins will not cause any damage to your JIRA data.


Installing Tempo Budgets

Note

Instructions in the following sections may differ depending on your versions of JIRA and the Universal Plugin Manager (UPM).  See Atlassian documentation on add-on installation for more details.

  1. Log into JIRA as a user with the 'JIRA System Administrators' global permission.

  2. Click the Add-ons item in the cog menu at the top right.

  3. Select the Find new add-ons link on the left navigation bar. Featured plugins available for JIRA will be shown.

  4. Type 'Tempo Budgets' in the search field and hit Enter. The Tempo Budgets plugin will appear in the results.

  5. Click the Manage button. A confirmation message and the plugin details will be displayed when Tempo Budgets is installed.

Manually installing Tempo Budgets

  • Download the latest Tempo Core installation (.obr) file from the Marketplace
    • Download the latest Tempo Planning API installation (.obr) file from the Marketplace

    1. Download the latest Tempo Budgets installation (.obr) file from the Atlassian Marketplace.
    2. Log into JIRA as a user with the 'JIRA System Administrators' global permission.
    3. Click the Add-ons item in the cog menu at the top right.
    4. Select the Manage add-ons link on the left navigation bar. The Universal Plugin Manager page will be displayed.
    5. Click the Upload add-on link and select Tempo Core's installation file you have previously downloaded.
    6. Click the Upload button. A confirmation message and the plugin details will be displayed when Tempo Core is installed.
    7. Click the Upload add-on link and select Tempo Planning API's installation file you have previously downloaded.
    8. Click the Upload button. A confirmation message and the plugin details will be displayed when Tempo Planning API is installed.
    9. Click the Upload add-on link and select Tempo Budgets's installation file you have previously downloaded.
    10. Click the Upload button. A confirmation message and the plugin details will be displayed when Tempo Budgets is installed.

    Editing your Tempo Budgets License

    To enter your Tempo Budgets License details:

    1. Log in as a user with the 'JIRA System Administrators' global permission.
    2. Click the Add-ons item in the cog menu at the top right.
    3. Select the Manage add-ons link on the left navigation bar. The Universal Plugin Manager page will be displayed.
    4. Click the Tempo Budgets section to expand it.
    5. Paste your license into the License Key field and click Add.

    You can copy your Tempo Budgets license from https://my.atlassian.com, where you can either generate a new Evaluation License Key or retrieve your old License Key if you already have one.

    If you need to change your Tempo Budgets license details at any time in the future, please refer to Specifying your License Details. Please note that if you are using a commercial (i.e. not an evaluation) license for Tempo Budgets then it must match your JIRA's license. For example, if you have a JIRA 25 User Commercial license you must have a Tempo Budgets 25 User Commercial license. Tempo Budgets evaluation licenses do not need to match JIRA licenses.


    Upgrading Tempo Budgets


    Note

    Before you begin, please read the latest Release Notes and version-specific Upgrade Notes (if any) and ensure that you are running a version of JIRA that is compatible with your new version of Tempo Budgets.

    To upgrade Tempo Budgets:

    1. Log in as a user with the 'JIRA System Administrators' global permission.
    2. Click the Add-ons item in the cog menu at the top right.
    3. Select the Manage add-ons link on the left navigation bar. The Universal Plugin Manager page will be displayed.

    4. Click the Tempo Budgets section to expand it.

    5. Click the 'Update' button.

    To upgrade Tempo Budgets manually (e.g. if your Tempo Budgets system does not have internet access), please follow the manual installation instruction.

    Disabling Tempo Budgets

    To disable Tempo Budgets:

    1. Log in as a user with the 'JIRA System Administrators'global permission.
    2. Click the Add-ons item in the cog menu at the top right.
    3. Select the Manage add-ons link on the left navigation bar. The Universal Plugin Manager page will be displayed.
    4. Click  the Tempo Budgets section to expand it.

    5. Click the Disable button.
