Automated Emails for Tempo Timesheets

Some features are not yet available to all customers. To participate in Tempo's Early Access Program and gain access to this feature, visit our TempoLab page.

Automated emails are set up to alert users about certain events related to timesheet approvals, such as changes, updates, reminders, and prompts for actions.

Automated Messages Sent to Tempo Timesheet Users (Requesters and Reviewers

  • Reminder of missing hours: You can program the Scheduler to send reminder emails to users to add or edit worklogs before the period closing date - these emails are sent between midnight and 2:00 AM in your server's local timezone.

    • Status reminder for late users: An email is sent to users to notify them that they have not completed their timesheet for the period.

    • Status reminder for all users: All users receive an email about their timesheet status for the period that is closing.

  • Grace period to late users: An email is sent to users when a reviewer has granted them an extension to complete their timesheet. This only applies if you're using the Scheduler to automatically close periods for logging time.

  • Timesheet approval: When a requester sends their timesheet for approval, an email is sent to the reviewer. Reviewers can use the approval page to either approve or reject timesheets that are submitted to them. The requester is notified by email once their timesheet is approved or rejected.

TempoLab Additional Messages Sent

When Financial Manager with Project Time Approval enabled is also installed, users can expect additional automated emails:

  • Project time approval: When a requester sends their timesheet for approval, the time they have spent working on a Tempo project is also sent to a Project Time Approver, generally the project manager. Reviewers can approve or reject the project time from the email or the Approval tab in My Work. The requester is notified by email when their project time has been rejected or approved.
