Can I connect Simple Search to more than one gadget on a Dashboard or macro on a Confluence page? | Can I connect Simple Search to gadgets/macros that live on a different Dashboard/Confluence page than the Simple Search gadget? | If I’m showing my reports in a JSM Portal using the Shared Dashboard gadget, can my customers use Simple Search there? |

Yes. A single Simple Search gadget/macro can be connected to as many Custom Charts gadgets/macros on a page as you’d like. | No. The gadget/macro must live on the same Dashboard/page as the Simple Search gadget/macro. | No. Simple Search does not work on Shared Dashboards. |
Can I use existing Jira filters in Simple Search? | Can I use custom fields from other apps in Simple Search? | If I create a filter in Simple Search using the Custom JQL toggle, will it save that filter as a Jira filter that I can use in the Jira issue search? |
Yes. As long as you have permission to access the filter in Jira, you can pull it into Simple Search and use it on linked gadgets/macros. | Yes. Can I connect Structure to Simple Search? | Can users viewing the Dashboard/Page add in Simple Search fields? | If users viewing the Dashboard/Page add in Simple Search fields and start applying them, will it affect other users viewing the Dashboard? |
Yes, but only in Jira and Confluence Data Center at this time. | Yes! While viewing the Dashboard/Page, they can add in any system field, custom field, and Jira filter they have permission to see. They can also write a custom JQL statement to use as a filter. | No. It will only update for them on their account. As soon as they refresh the Dashboard or Page, it will revert back to the filters added while the gadget/macro was in Edit mode. |
