To further comply with European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standards, Tempo is making changes to its extension points from Atlassian. The goal in doing so is to improve your ability to anonymize users and minimize the amount of personal information stored. These changes will be backwards compatible with Jira 8.0 and up, and will be released with Tempo Timesheets for Data Center 10.12.0, Tempo Planner for Data Center 7.12.0 and Tempo Budgets for Data Center 13.12.0.

To comply with GDPR, you -- or more specifically, your Jira administrator -- will now have the ability to anonymize a range of personal information for existing users. This will allow you to do the following:

• Change user keys and usernames of existing users

• Anonymize user profiles

• Delete or anonymize personal information that appears in Jira

Generate user keys for new users

For new users, Tempo recently aligned with Atlassian to adopt a new approach to generating user keys. Whereas current user keys often contain actual names of their users, the new user keys are anonymized to remove this information. This reduces the number of places where we can access your personal information and further ensures your privacy.
