Parent & Advanced Hierarchy Roll-ups [Cloud]
About the Parent Field
CLOUD ONLY
In 2024, Atlassian replaced the “Epic link” and “Parent link” fields in Jira with a single “Parent” field, as customers wanted the ability to create issue hierarchies above the Epic level (i.e Features, Initiatives, and Themes).
With this rollout, we decided to enhance our support of this new Parent field in Custom Charts so you can better report on issues in these hierarchies.

What do the enhancements mean for Custom Charts users?
This means better reporting around work structures in Jira. You now have more flexibility when it comes to building charts around issue hierarchies in Jira, as they are no longer limited to the typical levels of Epic → Story → Sub-task.
