We’re very excited to announce that Atlassian is rolling out Tempo project permissions in its Jira next-gen projects. These will make it much easier for you to create, manage and report on Tempo data in Jira next-gen projects - and allow you to better integrate it with data from Jira classic projects too. The rollout of these permissions has already begun and is expected to be complete by the middle of June.
The specific Tempo permissions that Jira next-gen projects will now include are:
- Log work for others
- Set billable hours
- View all worklogs
- View issue hours
One thing to note is that you will need to create new roles in your next-gen projects to be able to access these Tempo permissions. (The default roles provided by Atlassian - namely administrator, member and viewer - do not currently include access to app or plug-in project permissions.) When you create these new roles, you can specify which permissions you and your colleagues should have. You can find out more about how to do so in our Help Center.
The roll-out of project permissions is just the first step that Atlassian is taking to make Tempo compatible with Jira next-gen projects. In the coming weeks we’ll be working with them to roll out custom fields as well as define solutions for several other issues, with a goal of making Tempo fully compatible with Jira next-gen. We know this is something that many of you have been waiting for, so please check back here regularly for more details.
