Welcome to Portfolio Manager (formerly known as LiquidPlanner). This introductory guide explains how to access in app learning content, navigate your workspace, and get help when needed.
1 | Learn and explore with the Academy |
Academy lessons are available in your workspace and in the Help Center. Access the same content from either location. Explore lessons to help you get started or jump into the workspace and come back to the Academy when you want to learn more. Academy lessons support all users. Here's what you can expect from each course:
Getting Started: introduces the core benefits and problems solved by using LiquidPlanner.
For Portfolio Builders: supports Org Admins and Workspace Managers setting up the workspace.
Resources & Playbooks: tutorials for scheduling, tracking, views, and other documentation.
Reporting & API: guidance for building dashboards, using the API, setting up SSO, Slack, and Jira Integration.
Academy content is in transition as the brand updates from LiquidPlanner to Portfolio Manager – a new look with the same functionality.
2 | Navigating the Workspace |
The left-side navigation provides a jumping off point for the following locations:
Iterations: prioritize and schedule tasks for sprints and other time based planning models.
Projects: create projects, prioritize and manage projects in the Scheduled Portfolio.
Library: holds workspace dashboards and reports with jump links to package and project libraries.
My Work: a place for people to manage their own workload, timesheet, profile and availability.
Discussions: follow discussions on plan items and post comments with this rich text editor.
Favorites: clicking the star at the top of a view to adds it to your favorites list in the left-side navigation.
Administration: account management, workspace settings, customization and integrations.
People: invite team members to collaborate with you or set up resources and placeholders.
Integrations: access integrations such as Jira and Slack.
Help & Support: access the Academy, Support & Feedback, and Release Notes.
My Profile: select My Profile to manage personal information and upload a profile image. Select Switch Workspace to access another workspace in the Organization (Ultimate Plan only). Select Logout to logout and bookmark our Sign In page so it's easy to log back in again.
Select the chevron to expand or collapse the left-side navigation and use the icons to navigate when it's collapsed. To switch between Tempo modules, use the module switcher next to the product name.
3 | Projects & Templates |
Projects in the left-side navigation brings you to Portfolio View for the Scheduled Collection.
Portfolio View encompasses all the Packages and Projects in the Collection.
SCHEDULED Collection is where you add projects and manage global priorities for the workspace.
Select into the Add Project field to add work, either by creating a new project, accessing project templates, or importing from Jira. Learn about the Jira Integration in the API & Integrations track within the Reporting & API course.
Portfolio, Packages and Projects each have a series of views for examining work from different angles. Learn about them in the Views for Insights track under Resources & Playbooks.
4 | Location Breadcrumb |
The location breadcrumb at the top of the page shows your current location. When you are in a project level view you can use the breadcrumb to navigate back to a Package or the Portfolio.
Select the package name to return to Package View. In the example above, the package name is “Strategic Priorities”.
SCHEDULED takes you to Portfolio View.
ALL takes you to All Projects, the landing page for Project Collections: Scheduled, Pending, Archived and Templates.
5 | Leveraging the Academy |
The Academy provides support as you need it. When you are in your workspace, there are a couple of ways to surface lessons without navigating through the Academy.
The search bar at the top of the Academy home page. Enter a keyword to find lessons by feature or topic.
Help & Support on the left-side navigation displays suggested lessons depending on what page you are currently on. Select a lesson to open it.
6 | Support & Feedback in the Help & Support Menu |
The Help & Support menu is in the left navigation of the workspace. Select the menu to display Support & Feedback.
You can also access the Academy and product Release Notes using this menu.
