Setting Up Accounts
These tasks require Jira Administrator, Tempo Account Administrator or Tempo Administrator permissions.
Accounts in Tempo let your company organize time-tracking data for many different reasons, notably for tracking billable hours to invoice customers and work with contracts or for tracking Capex hours for tax credits or other financial reasons. No matter why your company is using Tempo accounts, there's a bit of setup you need to do to let your company take full advantage of accounts.
Grant Tempo Account Administrator permissions to the appropriate group in your company so that they can create accounts. This requires Jira administrator permissions.
Add the Tempo Account custom field in either (or both) of these ways to be able to track time logged to accounts (see Account Field vs the Account Work Attribute for more information):
Add the Account field to Jira issue screens to link accounts to Jira issues. This requires Jira administrator permissions.
Create an Account-type work attribute to have an Account dropdown in the Log Time form. Then users can log time to specific accounts. This requires Tempo administrator permissions.
Create accounts for your organization. This requires Tempo Account Account administrator permissions. While a Jira administrator can create accounts, it may be more appropriate for an account or financial manager or project manager to do this. Whoever does it requires the Tempo Account Administrator permission.
