Tempo Accounts - how to connect worklogs to an Account

This article is for Tempo for Cloud, Server and Data Center

Using the Account set on the issue:

Tempo Accounts are a way to track time across multiple teams and multiple projects. By connecting accounts to specific projects, worklogs can be connected to accounts, to provide data for reporting and bookkeeping.

To make this possible, a few steps are required:

When creating new issues in a Project, you have now the option to set an Account in the Account custom field. Only Accounts that are linked to the Project or global Accounts can be selected in the field. In case a default Account has been set for the Project, this Account will be pre-selected in the Account custom field in the Create issue screen.
All worklogs which are made on the issue will then be connected to this Account.

(lightbulb) Jira issues created before linking their project to an account are not automatically updated to show an account in the Account custom field. The value needs to be set afterwards and it is possible to bulk edit the Jira issues.

Adding the option to select another Account:

As the need may arise that you need to connect worklogs to a different Account than the one set on the Issue, the option to use Account as work attribute might be helpful.
Adding a work attribute of type Account will add an additional field to the "Log Time" dialog. Users can then select a different Account when logging their time. The Accounts available depend on the selected issue as only linked or global Accounts can be selected.
The work attribute of type Account gives the option to "overwrite" the Account set on the issue.

Please note that when using only the Account set on the issue, all worklogs will get connected to this Account. When the Account on the issue is changed, all worklogs will get connected to the new Account that was selected.
When using the work attribute of type Account, worklogs are not affected by a change of the Account set in the Account custom field on the issue.
