Error message: "Error! The user does not have permission to log work on destination project."

Problem

Why do we get the error, "The user does not have permission to log work on destination project" when trying to log time?

Solution

There are 2 possible reasons you would receive the error

  1. You don't have the "Work On Issues" Jira Project permission for that project.

  2. A workflow property was configured that prevents you from logging time. (How to restrict Log Work on a specific status)
