Tempo, EazyBI and Nested Reporting for Initiatives, Epics, Stories etc.

This article is for Cloud, Server and Data Center.

A customer inquired about the ability to sum up worklogs to issue types above the Epic level in their Jira Premium Advanced Roadmap environment and they also wanted to view this data in a nested report.  In this instance, the customer was using Tempo Timesheets and EazyBi.

EazyBI supports Advanced Roadmaps for Jira reporting and they also support nested reporting.  It should be noted that in JiraCloud some additional configuration is required to set up Advanced Roadmaps support which you can find here.

To Connect EazyBi to your Advanced Roadmaps environment, review this article below to configure the required additional custom fields.

Once you have connected EazyBI to your Advanced Roadmaps environment the article below demonstrates how to report at the issue types level further up in the hierarchy structure than epic such as the initiative type.

This article from EazyBI provides an example of a report showing the Initiative, Epic and Story issues types nested by hierarchy in a report.

Tempo is also supported extensively in EazyBI.  For all the Tempo values accessible in EazyBI, please refer this this article:

To sum data, such as logged hours in Tempo, you can use the following thread in the EazyBI forum to guide you through creating a report of cumulative estimated hours, cumulative hours spent and cumulative hours remaining. Following the script samples, other fields can be substituted as needed and summed.

The report script provided below can be used as a template to sum multiple columns and visualize them in a report.
