How to apply Jira & Tempo licenses on Server/Data Center
This article is for Server and Data Center.
Unlike on Cloud where the license is renewed monthly by subscription, on Server/DC, the license is applied typically once a year. Please make sure you have Jira Administrator permission before you can apply Jira and Tempo licenses by following the steps below.
If both Jira and Tempo licenses are expired, please apply Jira licenses first and always make sure the license types are the same for all the licenses.
If you are upgrading Server license to Data Center license, please apply Jira licenses first and restart the instance, then apply Tempo license.
Jira Licenses
To apply/update Jira Core/Software/Service Management licenses, please go to Jira Administration > Applications > Versions & licenses and edit/update new license key.

Tempo Licenses
To apply/update Tempo Timesheets/Planner/Budgets licenses, please go to Jira Administration > Manage apps > Atlassian MarketPlace > Manage apps and edit/update new license key.
Please refer to Jira documentation on Universal Plugin Manager for more details.
Please make sure all Jira and Tempo license types are the same. For example, Jira has “Developer (Data Center) and Tempo has “developer license, Data Center”.
