Access Control Feature - Release and Action Required for Budgets Users

How does the new Access Control Feature affect Budgets Super Admins?

Answer

Tempo is pleased to release the latest update to our Server solution which (among several other improvements) includes the ability for administrators to control content displayed to certain users or roles. Using the Tempo Timesheets Access or the Tempo Planner Access global permissions in Jira, administrators can have complete control over access to Tempo data (where this was previously an option for Budgets only).  

Timesheet reminder notifications will not be sent out to users without access to Tempo Timesheets. And those who do not have access to the Tempo Planner add-on for Jira will simply not be able to perform planning actions.

This access control is useful for those of you who need to limit visibility to information included in Tempo, for example when working with contractors.

There is an important step you need to take with this update to ensure continued access for Budgets Super Admins.

User groups that have been granted the Budgets user permission will be migrated to the Tempo Budgets Access global permission with basic access. Budgets Super Admins will need to be given the Tempo Budgets Access permission manually by a Jira admin. They will not be able to access Budgets until they get this permission.
