Uninstall and re-install Tempo products on Data Center

Question

How do I properly uninstall and re-install Tempo? Will that cause any data loss?

Answer

 Please note that downgrading to an earlier version of Tempo can cause data loss

and should not be done without being explicitly asked to do so by Tempo Support. 



To uninstall, please go to JIRA Administration > Manage Apps > Manage Apps and uninstall 

  • Tempo Timesheets,

  • Tempo Planner,

  • Tempo Budgets

(if any is present). You will also need to uninstall all Tempo System Plugins:

  • System Plugin: Tempo Accounts,

  • System Plugin: Tempo Core,

  • System Plugin: Tempo Planning API,

  • System Plugin: Tempo Platform - JIRA,

  • System Plugin: Tempo Platform API,

  • System Plugin: Tempo Teams.



A restart of JIRA is recommended before re-installing Tempo Plugins.

Uninstalling and re-installing Tempo Plugins (same version) will not cause any data loss as this process is not touching the database where data is stored when re-installing the same version of Tempo. Please get in touch with the Tempo Support team when you are planning to downgrade to an earlier version. 


To re-install or upgrade a Tempo plugin, head over to each plugin's respective page in Atlassian Marketplace to download the version corresponding to your Jira version:

Timesheets

Planner

Budgets

Then click "Upload app" and choose the downloaded installer file to install it.
