Grouping by Epic for Team managed (former Next-Gen) projects

Question

When grouping by Epic and Issue, the Team Managed issues are shown under No Epic

Answer

In the current version of JIRA, it is not possible to use the JQL to find issues linked to an Epic in Team managed projects ("Epic Link" = "your Epic" is not working for Team managed Projects, only for classic Projects). Due to this, Tempo can not identify the Epic link of Team managed issues and display the Epic in the Reports. Atlassian is aware of this difference and have an issue for this in their system (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-17239).
They recommend using parent = Epic-123 as a workaround. Please note that this returns the linked issues for Epics in Team managed Projects, but sub-tasks for classic projects.
To view the worklogs on Team managed Epics and their linked issues, please create a Jira filter like: Epic-123 OR parent = Epic-123 This filter can then be used in Tempo Reports.

As the issue in the Atlassian system has been closed, we recommend using the workaround to group by Epic, Issue and Sub-task in the Tempo Report views. This will show the Team managed issues grouped under their Epic.
