Approved hours do not match the hours in the report

Problem

A user had submitted their timesheet, which was approved for full hours (40h/40h). Now, when viewing the same week in the report, you see fewer hours.

Solution

When there is a discrepancy between the hours submitted and the hours in a report, it is usually caused by:

  • There was a permission change, and you lost access to view the project or work item

  • The work item or project where the time was logged was deleted.

Tempo stores the total time of approved timesheets. This ensures that changes to permissions or the deletion of a project/work item will not impact the user's timesheet.
