Time logged on sub-tasks is not rolling up to the Epic
Problem
An Epic was created, with a Story linked to that Epic, and sub-tasks created under the Story. When time is logged on the sub-tasks, it correctly rolls up and is reflected on the parent Story. However, the same time does not roll up or appear at the Epic level.
Solution
Time logged on a sub-task is stored only on that sub-task.
Jira does not store worklogs on Epics.
Tempo Timesheets can roll up sub-task time to the Epic at report time, using the Epic Link.
So:
✅ Sub-task → Epic roll-up works in Tempo reports (Timesheet / Worklog views, when grouped or filtered by Epic)
❌ The Epic issue itself will never show that time
If you don’t see the roll-up in a Tempo report, check that:
Sub-tasks are included in the report
The Epic is linked correctly (Epic Link)
You are grouping or filtering by Epic
That’s expected and correct behavior for Jira + Tempo Timesheets.
