Creating project versions for your team
In JIRA Software or JIRA Agile, you can create project versions. You can also create project versions in Tempo Planner. Versions that you create in JIRA are displayed in Tempo Planner, and the other way round.
In Tempo Planner, you can create versions on the team projects timeline or on the program projects timeline.
Required permission
- Browse Projects permission for the project
- Administer Projects permission for the project
- One of the following permission types:
- JIRA Administrator permission
- Browse Team permission for a team that is linked to the project
Procedure
To create a project version on the team projects timeline, complete the following steps:
- In the project row, click the start date of the version, and drag the mouse to the end date.
In the Create Version window, fill in the requested information.
Field Tip Version The name of the version that you want to create. Description The version description. This description is displayed on the version on the team backlog and on the version or release in JIRA. Â Â Â Â
- Click Save.

A version is created on the team projects timeline.
