Editing project versions for a group of teams

In JIRA Software or JIRA Agile, you can edit project versions. You can also edit project versions in Tempo Planner, on the program projects timeline or on the team projects timeline.

Required permission

  • Browse Projects permission for the project
  • Administer Projects permission for the project
  • One of the following permission types:
    • JIRA Administrator permission
    • Browse Team permission for a team that is linked to the project

Procedure

To edit a project version on the program projects timeline, complete the following steps:

  1. On the timeline, click anywhere inside the version that you want to edit, except on the version key.
       

  2. In the window that is displayed, edit the version information.

    FieldTip
    VersionThe name of the version.
    DescriptionThe version description. This description is displayed on the version on the team backlog and on the version or release in JIRA.

        

  3. Click Save.
      

Tips

  • Alternatively, you can move and resize versions by dragging and dropping on the program projects timeline or on the team projects timeline.
  • You can add issues to and manage versions on the team backlog and in JIRA.
  • You can give issues from a version to a team and assign the issues to team members on the team board.
