To address customer needs, Tempo is happy to announce that we have made the Description and Remaining estimate fields optional by default in Timesheets version 10.11.0. Whereas users previously were required to fill in these fields in the Log Time dialog box -- and would get an error message if they were skipped or empty -- the new feature allows them to log time without a description or remaining estimate. The result is that users can now finish time registration more quickly and easily.
It is important to note that this change will not affect instances where customers have already marked these fields as required. However, new customers and existing customers that have never changed their settings (and are still using the default values) will see these fields become optional.
If you would like to make Description or Remaining estimate required fields, your Tempo administrator will need to configure the logging time options and ensure that the Worklog Description and/or Remaining Estimate are not marked as optional.
