Adding the Account Field to the Jira Issue View - Tempo Cloud

Adding the account field to the Jira issue view requires the Jira Administrator permission.

The Tempo Account custom field is installed automatically with Tempo Accounts. To make use of the field in relation to the Tempo Products, it needs to be associated in one of the following two ways:

  • At the Jira Issue level, which requires that you associate the account with the desired issue views (see below).
  • To Tempo Timesheets worklogs, which requires that you add the Account as a Work Attribute and the field will appear in the Log Time dialog box.

The field is in both cases a drop-down showing accounts linked to the project, which the Jira issue belongs to. Jira project(s) are linked to an account, when it is createdimported, or when it is being configured.

To add the account field to the Jira issue view:

  1. Click Jira settingsin the upper right corner.
  2. Select Issues from the Jira settings drop-down menu.
  3. Under Fields select Custom fields.  
  4. Go to Account, which is the Tempo Account Custom Field.
  5. Click the ellipsis  (...) to the right and select Associate to Screens from the dropdown.
  6. Select one or more screens where you would like to associate the field (such as the Default Screen, Resolve Issue Screen, or Workflow Screen).
  7. Click Update to save.

Tip

By setting an account on issues, you can then track the time spent on accounts in the Logged Time Report.​
