Submitting Timesheets for Approval - Tempo Server

Submitting timesheets for your team members requires the Manage Team or Approve Timesheets permission for the team.

Submitting Your Timesheet

At the end of a period, when you have completed the required workload and logged time, you can submit your timesheet to a reviewer, typically the Team Lead. When a period finishes, the period status changes to Ready to Submit. Selecting a reviewer for a timesheet will automatically send an email to the reviewer asking them to approve or reject the timesheet.

Note

Once you have submitted your timesheet, you can no longer create or edit worklogs in the submitted period.

To submit your timesheet for review:

  1. Select My Workin the Tempo sidebar.
  2. Click Submit Periodat the top. The pop-up shows how many hours have been logged and how many are missing. To submit an older timesheet, click the down-arrow on the Submit period button and then click Submit button for the desired timesheet.
  3. Select a Reviewer from the list. Possible reviewers will include any Team Lead for a team where you are a member, or a person who has the Approve Timesheets permission.
  4. Optional. You can add a comment for the reviewer.
  5. Click Submit. The period status changes to Waiting for approval.

Note

  • You must be a member of a team to submit your timesheet for approval and must select a Reviewer when submitting your timesheet.
  • If you are a member of multiple teams, you may have the option to choose from a number of Reviewers. The hours displayed on your timesheet will represent all of the time you logged during that period, not just the hours associated with one team.
  • If you are a new user or have moved to a different team, the "Reviewer" field will be empty until you have submitted your timesheet at least once with the new reviewer. You simply need to select the name of your new reviewer from the dropdown list for this first submittal.
  • Team Leads and other users with Approve Timesheet permission cannot approve their own timesheet.
  • If there are no Reviewers available in the drop-down list, you will need to be added to a team with an approver, or add an approver to your team by granting them the Approve Timesheets permission.

Submitting Timesheets for Your Team

As Team Lead, you can submit timesheets for your team members. You may want to do this if they can't submit it themselves before the end of the approval period, such as if they're sick or on vacation. You can submit timesheets in the Teams view, or directly in the user timesheet in My Work

To submit timesheets in the Teams view:

  1. Select Teams in the Tempo sidebar.
  2. Select the team for which you want to submit timesheets.
  3. Click Approvals at the top-right.
  4. You can submit any timesheets that are Ready to Submit or Open.

  • To submit a timesheet for a single team member, click Submit for the relevant team member.
  • To submit timesheets for multiple team members, select the team members that you want to submit timesheets for, and then click Submit at top.
  • To submit all timesheets that are Ready to Submit or Open, select the check-box at the top-left, then click Submit at top.

Note

Team Leads or Reviewers, who are also team members in their team, can submit their own Timesheet in this view. Their entry will then no longer be shown to them, as all further steps in the approval process need to be done by another Reviewer.
