Integrating Google Calendar with Tempo Timesheets allows you to see all of your scheduled meetings and events in My Work. You can then log your time using the calendar event cards. See Logging Time to Your Activities for more information.

If you add the Jira issue key in the title of the Google Calendar event (such as INT-45 Meetings), the app can push the time you spent in the calendar event to the Jira issue. You can then log time to that issue with one click.

An administrator can connect your Tempo account to your Google Calendar automatically if they install the Google Calendar app for your organization. If the app is already installed for your organization, the tile doesn’t have the Install option.

"Private" or "Free" calendar events are not synced to Tempo.

Calendar events are visible in My Work only while Google Calendar is connected.

You can also connect and disconnect the Google Calendar app using the Settings menu in My Work in Tempo Timesheets - see Connecting Your External Calendars for more information.

Install the Google Calendar App

  1. Select Apps in the Tempo sidebar.

  2. On the Google Calendar tile, click Install. The Calendar connection page opens.

  3. In the Individual tab, choose one of the connection options.

    • Enhanced Calendar with automation includes Tempo Automation, which helps you log time faster by displaying your calendar events in your Activity Feed.

    • Basic Calendar connection offers basic functionality without automation. No information is stored.

To learn more about either option, see Understanding the Difference between Basic and Enhanced Calendar connections.

  4. Sign in with your Google account, and then confirm that you want to sign in.

  5. The Tempo app must have permission to access your calendar. Click Allow.

  6. If you selected Basic Calendar connection and you have multiple calendars, select the one you want to connect to My Work.

  7. Click Go to My Work to see your calendar events in both the Calendar and List views. The calendar activity cards are identified with the Google icon.

When installed, the Google Calendar app is added in the Installed section on the Tempo Apps home page.

To log time to these activities, see Logging Time to Your Activities.

Disconnect Your Calendar

If you do not want to see your external calendar as activities in My Work anymore, disconnect the calendar.

  1. Select Apps in the Tempo sidebar.

  2. Click the Google Calendar tile.

  3. Click Sign out.

The calendar activity event cards are removed from My Work.
