Installing Tempo Capacity Planner

Installing Tempo Capacity Planner for Server requires the Jira System Administrator permission.

You can get a free trial of Tempo Capacity Planner and replace the evaluation license with a purchased license at a later time. You can install Tempo Capacity Planner from within Jira by using the Universal Plugin Manager.

Before you Begin

If you want users to be able to plan time for work on epics in Tempo Capacity Planner and to plan items from scrum boards or kanban boards, ensure that Jira Agile or Jira Software is installed.

Installing Tempo Capacity Planner

Jira's Universal Plugin Manager can automatically choose the latest version of Tempo Capacity Planner that is compatible with your versions of JIRA, JIRA Agile, and Tempo Timesheets. Alternatively, you can choose an earlier version of Tempo Capacity Planner to install, from the Atlassian marketplace.

To install Tempo Capacity Planner:

  1. Log in as a user with the Jira Administrators global permission.
  2. Click the gear icon at the top-right, and then select Add-ons.
  3. In the left sidebar, click Find new add-ons.
  4. Search for Tempo Capacity Planner with the Search the Marketplace field.
  5. In the 'Tempo Capacity Planner for Jira' section, click Free trial or Buy now, and follow the instructions to download Tempo Capacity Planner.

Please note that Tempo Capacity Planner is installed along with the following system plug-ins:

  • Tempo Core
  • Tempo Teams
  • Tempo Planning API
  • Tempo Accounts
  • Tempo Platform API
  • Tempo Platform Jira
