Token Generation

The Roadmunk GraphQL API uses API Access Tokens to authenticate requests. You can generate, view and manage your API tokens from the Integrations tab in your Account Settings.

From the Dashboard, go to Integrations and Existing Integrations where you will see an option for API Tokens. Enter a unique Application Name for the token you want to generate. Token names can be 1 to 225 characters in length, with no restrictions on special characters. Go to Create API Token and a modal will appear when it has been successfully created. Tokens are 549 characters in length and this will be your only opportunity to copy to clipboard. Once the modal is closed, you will not be able to get to your token again. If the modal is closed before you have copied the API token, you will need to revoke the token and re-generate a new one.

Your API tokens carry admin-level privileges and will grant access to all of your data in the Roadmunk app across feedback, ideas and roadmapping, so be sure to keep them secure! Do not share your secret API token in publicly accessible areas such as GitHub, client-side code, and so forth.
