This page explains the sidebar option Filter. This is an option that can be useful to You can find issues quickly by any JIRA filters that you can from any JIRA filter that you may view and have which you added to your favorites.

To log work on a filtered issue, follow the steps below:

  • Open the Log Work dialog by clicking the Log Work button (available on every screen in Tempo).
    The keyboard shortcut key is w, e.g. simply press the w on the keyboard and the dialog opens.
  • Select the Filter option on the left sidebar in the dialog.
    The last option that was used, is selected by default.
  • Choose a filter from the drop-down in the Filter field (you can also start writing).
  • Then select an Issue from the drop-down matching filter issues (shows maximum 20), you can also start writing.
    The time-tracking status for the issue is displayed for information purposes, e.g. how many hours have been Logged and what the Original estimate was.
  • If you tick the Period box

    Procedure

    1. From any timesheet, in the upper-right corner, click Log Work.
        
    2. In the Log Work window, in the left column, click Filter.

    3. Fill in the requested information.

      If you select the Period checkbox, an End date field for the time period is displayed.

    4. Select a new Date if you are logging work on another date than the current one.

      The behavior of the 
      Remaining estimateThe remaining estimate

      setting 'Remaining estimate is optional
       in Tempo Global Configuration. If enabled and an issue has no Original estimate, the Remaining estimate is not calculated. Again if enabled and an issue has Original estimate, the Remaining estimate is reduced by the time spent until the value 0 is reached. The Remaining estimate can not be a negative number, but if it has reached 0, the user can add Remaining estimate.
    6. Write a brief work description in the Description field.
      The description can be optional, if Worklog description is optional is enabled in Tempo Global Configuration.
    7. Click the Log Work button if you are done logging work or Cancel to close without saving. You can also continue to log a bulk of work, by ticking the Log another box before your click the Log Work button, but this means that the dialog stays open to do a new worklog entry
      ' in the Tempo global configuration:
      • If that setting is selected, and the issue does not have an original estimate, the remaining estimate is not calculated.
      • If that setting is selected, and the issue has an original estimate, the remaining estimate is reduced by the time that is logged until the remaining estimate is 0, in which case you can increase the remaining estimate. The remaining estimate cannot be a negative number.

    8. If you plan to log more work immediately after you log this work, at the bottom of the window, select Log another.

    9. Click Log Work.
