Logging Time in the My Work Calendar

Logging time requires the Work on Issues permission for the Jira project to which the issue belongs.

My Work is your home base for Tempo Timesheets. You can log time in different ways, as well as plan time here.

To access the calendar, select My Work in the Tempo sidebar and make sure Calendar is selected at the top-right.

Log Time by Clicking a Date

  1. Open the Log Time form by doing one of the following:
    1. In the Time view, you can click on the start time and date you would like to log time, then drag to the desired end time. You can also click on the time where the time record should start.
      -OR-
    2. In the List view, move the pointer to a day to display the + button, then click Log Time.
  2. Fill in the Log Time form, and then click Log Time when you are finished.

Log Time by Dragging Issues from the Issues Side Panel

The Issues side panel at the right contains issues organized by type (from predefined JQL searches). By default, the Issues side panel is collapsed, but Tempo remembers the last state and will display it as it was stored with your preferences.

To expand or collapse the Issues side panel, click the << or >> arrows at the bottom-right. You can configure the Issues side panel to show the issues most relevant to you - see Using and Configuring the Issues Side Panel.

To log time by dragging an issue from the side panel:

  1. If the Issues side panel is not open, click  at the lower right to expand it
  2. Use the tabs to select what you want to view in the panel. You can also use the search box to search for the issue. For more information, see Using and Configuring the Issues Side Panel.

  3. When you have found the issue you want to log time on, drag it to the desired date.
  4. Fill in the Log Time form, and click Log Time when you are finished.

Log Time Against Your Plans

You can easily log time against your planned schedule. When you have logged time for plans, they are replaced by worklogs. The plan icon turns gray to indicate the worklog's origin. If worklogs originating from a plan are deleted, the original plan reappears in the calendar.

To log time against plans:

  1. Click the plan card you want to log time on.
  2. If needed, make changes to the date, time, and description in the Log Time form, and then click Log Time.
  3. Your time is logged and the Plan card changes to a time record.
