Team capacity report

You can know whether too much or too little work is planned for each member of a team for a given day, week, month, or quarter by viewing the team capacity report. You can also view the effective size of the team, which is useful if some team members do not work full-time on the team.

Note

On the capacity report, users with Browse Team permission for the team can view the following information about each team member:

  • The team member's required hours, planned hours, and unplanned hours in the team
  • The team member's total required hours, total planned hours, and total unplanned hours across all teams in the company, even if the users do not have Browse Team permission for the other teams

Quickly know when too much time is planned for a team member

On the left side of the report, click % Planned. If too much time is planned for a team member, the times are colored orange.

In this example, too much time is planned for Beverly Perkins. She is supposed to work on the team for a total of 152 hours in January, but 168 hours of work are planned for her in the team.
View the effective size of the team
  1. On the right side of the report, click Team.

  2. On the left side of the report, click Effective Team Size.

In this example, three people work on the team.

  • Megan Paladino is supposed to work 100% of her required company work hours on this team. In the calculation of the effective size of the team, Megan Paladino is counted as 1 team member.
  • Similarly, Robert Glass is counted as 1 team member.
  • Tara Flynn is supposed to work 75% of her required company work hours on this team. In the calculation of the effective size of the team, Tara Flynn is counted as 0.75 of a team member.

The effective size of the team is therefore 1 + 1 + 0.75 = 2.75 team members.
