Permissions needed
The Teams Timeline shows all iterations /and sprints that have been scheduled for all teams in the program.
Its main function is to provide both the team and its managers a proper overview of all current and on-going versions for the teams. It also allows managers and team leads to create iterations and edit the iterations and sprints.

If you change the name of a sprint in JIRA Software or in JIRA Agile, the change of name might be delayed on some screens of Tempo Planner due to a caching issue. |
Scheduling Iterations
All scheduled iterations for all teams in the program appear on the Teams Timeline.
Create an Iteration
To create an iterations
- Click a box on the timeline
- The date for the selected box is suggested as a starting date for the iteration. If that is not the correct starting date for the iteration, it can easily be changed by editing the start date field.
- Enter all the metrics for the iteration
- Project
- Description
- Starting date, if other than suggested.
- Release date
- Click Save at the bottom of the dialog, or cancel if you do not want to create the iteration.
Edit an Iteration
All iteration are editable on the timeline.
- Click the arrow in the top right corner of the iteration box. A dialog, identical to the Create Iteration dialog appears, with all the metrics for the iteration.
- Edit the metrics you want to change.
- Click Save at the bottom of the dialog, or cancel if you do not want to change anything.
Iteration dates can also be edited by using drag-and-drop. Iterations cannot be dragged between projects, but can be dragged and dropped on a different date, and thereby, updating the release date of the iteration.
Correct Start Date - edit Release Date
- Select the iteration box you want to change the dates for.
- Click the right end of the iteration box and drag it to the correct release date.
Correct Release Date - edit Start Date
- Find the iteration box you want to change the dates for.
- Click the left end of the iteration box and drag it to the correct start date.
Edit both Start and Release Date
- Find the iteration box you want to change the dates for.
- Click the iteration box and drag it to the correct dates on the timeline and drop it there.
