Creating iterations on the team board

You can create iterations on the team board and plan project work for the team.

Required permission

Plan Time permission for the team

Procedure

To create an iteration for a team, complete the following steps:

  1. On the team board, on the right sidebar, click the Iteration tab.

    Tip

    If the Iteration tab is not displayed, click the menu icon to the right of the tabs to view more tab options.

  2. Below the tabs, click Create Iteration.
      

  3. In the Create Iteration window, fill in the requested information.

    FieldTip
    ProjectClick the small down-arrow, and select the project from the list.
    Commitment

    The team commitment; that is, the percentage of the team's time that the team commits to the iteration.

    Do not confuse the team commitment with the member commitment. The member commitment (or availability) is the percentage of the member's time that the member commits to the team.

    DescriptionThe iteration description. This description is displayed on the iteration on the team board and the team backlog and is used as the 'Plan summary' on the iteration on the team members timeline.
    From and To datesThe iteration start and end dates.

        

  4. Click Submit.
      
    An iteration is created on the program teams timeline.

Tips

  • You can add issues to and manage iterations on the team backlog.
  • You can assign issues from the iteration to team members on the team board.
  • You can move and resize iterations on the team members timeline.
  • A user with Tempo Team Administrators permission can also move and resize iterations on the program teams timeline.
