Creating iterations for a group of teams

You can create iterations on the program teams timeline and plan time for teams in the program (group of teams) to work on projects.

Required permission

Tempo Team Administrators or JIRA Administrators permission

Procedure

To create an iteration for a team, complete the following steps:

  1. On the program teams timeline, in the team row, click the start date of the iteration, and drag the mouse to the end date.

  2. In the Create Iteration window, fill in the requested information.

    ProjectClick the small down-arrow, and select the project from the list.
    Commitment

    The team commitment; that is, the percentage of the team's time that the team commits to the iteration.

    Do not confuse the team commitment with the member commitment. The member commitment (or availability) is the percentage of the member's time that the member commits to the team.

    DescriptionThe iteration description. This description is displayed on the iteration on the team backlog and is used as the 'Plan summary' on the iteration on the team members timeline.

        

  3. Click Submit.
      
    An iteration is created on the program teams timeline.

Tips

  • You can move and resize iterations on the program teams timeline and on the team members timeline.
  • You can add issues to and manage iterations on the team backlog.
  • You can assign issues from the iteration to team members on the team board.
