What are the differences between the export options CSV, Excel, PDF and Print?

The CSV and Excel exports will provide you with the raw, unformatted data that can be used for advanced reporting. PDF will provide you with an export of the data you see on your UI’s screen. And the Print view is exactly what you see on your screen, in the same format. The Print option can also be saved as PDF if you have a PDF reader installed in your computer.

If you only have Tempo Timesheets installed, you will be able to see only the time planned for yourself by adding the Planned column to the report. However, if you have both Tempo Timesheets and Planner, and you have permission to see other users' plans, you will be able to see the planned data for those users. With both Planner and Timesheets installed, you will also have access to the Planned vs Actuals report.

When pulling a report with multiple teams and exporting it to Excel, the Excel report will not identify which Tempo team the users are in. How can we identify which Tempo team a user is in when exporting the report?

Worklogs are always tied to a user - not a team. You would need to create reports for each single team or use the "Group by team" functionality from the UI and export these reports in the Excel format. See more in the documentation for reports.

Can I group my report on Jira custom fields?

Not yet. We are working on extending the reporting capabilities. Here’s the corresponding feature request: https://ideas.tempo.io/ideas/CTS-I-14.

How we calculate and presents logged / planned / billable time in UI and Raw Data

How Report UI calculates and presents logged / planned / billable time
The UI uses seconds from each worklog for both line items and when calculating the totals. Only when showing the values does the UI convert it to the user's desired format.

How Raw Data export calculates and presents logged / planned / billable time
During the raw data export, Tempo converts the seconds to decimal hours for each row. In other words, the rounding is applied on a per-line basis.
